Operative procedures to treat pathology in the peritoneal cavity can result in symptomatic scarring, or adhesions. This video shows the application of Oxiplex/AP, an adhesion barrier gel, to the pelvic sidewall following a laparoscopic procedure. Appropriate technique involves application of a single layer of Oxiplex/AP, as demonstrated with application to the ovary in the upper left corner of the anatomy. Note how the gel adheres to the site of application. The second look laparoscopy demonstrates that the fallopian tube is unrestricted and shows the lack of adhesions between the ovary, pelvic sidewall, and fallopian tube.
